The core purpose of this role is to primarily work within Orthopaedics; however, due to service demand, you may work in various specialties.

As an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse/ODP, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of patients within the operating theatre. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support throughout the perioperative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the operating list from start to completion, escalating concerns promptly.
  • Preparing the operating room for a range of cases, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and staff are available.
  • Scrubbing and circulating for various procedures within your scope of practice, including elective, trauma, and emergency cases.
  • Communicating effectively with the surgical and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supporting post-operative care and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Participating in training and mentoring staff and students.
  • Organizing specialized equipment for procedures and communicating with relevant parties.
  • Completing clinical audits to ensure compliance.
