We have opportunities for two Pension Officers to work within our in‑house Pensions Team. The role involves the day‑to‑day administration of the LGPS, calculation of all types of benefits in accordance with scheme regulations, and support for project work such as annual benefit statements, pension increases, end‑of‑year processes and valuations.
Working Arrangements: Hybrid working: 3 days a week from modern offices at Laurence House in Catford and 2 days a week from home.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the LGPS and calculate all types of benefits in accordance with scheme regulations.
- Interpret complex legislation and apply it to practice.
- Provide support on project work including annual benefit statements, pension increases, end‑of‑year processes and valuations.
Qualifications:
- Experience of administering a final salary pension scheme and a CARE scheme.
- Good communication and numeracy skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of defined benefit pension schemes and working knowledge of the LGPS.
- Knowledge of the LGPS and pension administration systems, Altair, is an advantage.
