Downderry Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspirational leader with the vision and determination to continue to keep Downderry an outstanding school. The position is for a Full-time Assistant Headteacher responsible for SEND/Inclusion, starting from September 2026.

Location: Lewisham, South East London

Salary: £71,327-£77,691 per year

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Be an outstanding teacher with a passion for inclusive practice and equality of opportunity.
  • Hold the NPQ SENCO qualification.
  • Be innovative, imaginative, and creative.

  • Be committed to working in partnership with families, external agencies, and pastoral leaders to remove barriers to learning.
  • Ensure high-quality provision for students with SEND and those requiring additional pastoral support.
