We are looking for a highly motivated Revenues Operations Manager to lead our Council Tax service and drive performance, innovation and customer-focused delivery. You will manage a key operational service responsible for the administration and collection of Council Tax, ensuring that customers receive a prompt, efficient and high-quality service. Working as part of the Revenues Management Team, you will play a central role in maintaining consistent standards, improving processes and supporting the delivery of the Council's financial priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Council Tax service, driving performance across billing, recovery and enforcement to maximise collection while ensuring fairness and legal compliance.
- Develop and motivate a high-performing team, promoting excellent customer service, strong performance management and continuous staff development.
- Oversee multi-channel service delivery (telephony, digital and correspondence) and implement improvements using data and technology to enhance efficiency.
- Provide expert advice and strategic oversight on Council Tax and recovery processes, managing budgets, contracts and governance, and deputising for the Head of Revenues and Benefits as required.
Qualifications
- Experience of managing and developing large teams within a Revenues or similar environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Council Tax legislation, recovery practices and enforcement processes.
- A track record of improving service performance and delivering against targets and KPIs.
- Strong analytical skills with experience of using data to drive decision-making and service improvements.
- Strong commitment to customer care, equality and diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, partners and customers.
- Experience of managing budgets, contracts and service delivery within a complex organisation.
