Adult Learning Lewisham is looking for part‑time ESOL, COMESOL and Functional Skills English/GCSE tutors to support adults in improving their English language skills, enhancing their career prospects and achieving their goals. If you are a passionate ESOL tutor with the skills to also teach English, enjoy making a difference, and wish to combine your teaching skills with flexible part‑time hours, this role may be for you.
Responsibilities
- Support pre‑course assessment of learners and allocate them to appropriate courses.
- Plan and deliver courses, addressing learner needs and helping them progress towards their goals and qualifications.
- Assist with quality assurance, internal moderation, and support learners in achieving qualifications where applicable.
- Work within a team and share best teaching practices, attend staff development events, and use our MIS and VLE systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified ESOL/English practitioner or working towards a Level 4 qualification with an English/ESOL subject specialism.
- Demonstrable skills in incorporating technologies and teaching resources that are relevant, inclusive and impactful.
- Familiarity with ESOL, English Functional Skills and/or GCSE qualifications.
- Experience of pre‑course assessments, quality assurance, and internal moderation activities (preferred).
- Ability to work in both areas is preferred.
