Downderry Primary School is seeking skilled, experienced, highly‑motivated, resilient and enthusiastic teaching assistants to support teachers and students in achieving their full potential within the teaching and learning environment.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Be a good team player
- Be committed, enthusiastic and responsive
- Work on own initiative and maintain a strong work ethic
- Have a good level of written, numeracy and oral communication skills
- Be patient and caring, and act as a positive role model
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in classroom activities and support student learning
- Maintain high standards of teaching practice and motivate students
- Support classroom management and ensure a positive learning environment
- Assist in monitoring student progress and providing feedback
- Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary documentation
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience in an educational setting, ideally as a teaching assistant
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance, medical clearance, and satisfactory references
- Evidence of right to work in the United Kingdom; overseas experience (≥3 months after 18 years) requires relevant overseas check
- Held HLTA qualification enables covering classes in all year groups
