1-year fixed term (maternity cover) September 2026 start. Sydenham School is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and creative Languages Teacher with German or French to KS4 to join our successful Languages Faculty. We would welcome applications from ECTs as well as from experienced colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large and forward-thinking Faculty team, offering courses across the age and ability range, up to and including 'A' level. The Faculty achieves excellent exam results and we would welcome someone who will contribute to this success. The school is committed to the promotion of equal opportunities and diversity. Responsibilities

  • Teach German and French to KS4 students.
  • Contribute to achieving excellent exam results.
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to support student progress across all areas.

Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic, ambitious and creative Languages Teacher.
  • Experience teaching German or French to KS4.
  • Experience as an ECT or an experienced teacher willing to work with the Faculty.

Original evidence of right to work within the United Kingdom will be required prior to commencement of employment i.e. National Insurance Number, Work Permits or Indefinite Leave to Remain. If the applicant has lived/worked overseas for 12 months or more since the age of 18, they will also be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country(ies) they lived/worked in at their own expense and provide these for our records.
