This is a quantity surveying role with direct impact on homes and communities. You’ll provide strong commercial control across housing repairs, capital and property works, ensuring contracts are managed robustly and public money is spent effectively.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the effective commercial and financial management of housing repairs and property works, ensuring contracts are well controlled and deliver value for money. You will manage valuations, variations, forecasting and reporting, working closely with operational colleagues and contractors to maintain cost discipline and contractual compliance. The role provides clear financial insight to support decision‑making, manage risk and ensure accurate reporting, playing an important part in the successful delivery of high‑quality housing services.

What We’re Looking For: An experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in housing, property or social housing environments. Proven ability to manage the commercial and financial aspects of works, including valuations, variations, forecasting and cost control. Confident working with contractors and operational teams, providing clear commercial advice and constructive challenge where required. A good understanding of different forms of contract and pricing mechanisms such as NHF Schedule of Rates. A collaborative, professional individual who can communicate financial information clearly and support informed decision‑making.
Location: The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions: Weekend working is required for this job. The job is subject to a standard DBS check.
Salary: £57,495 - £59,574 Per annum (PO6). N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
