Rathfern Primary School is a two-form entry school (including bulge classes in Y5 and Y6). We are seeking to employ a highly motivated, enthusiastic and energetic Premises Officer to start ASAP. We are an outstanding, highly successful school that places learning at its very heart. We have developed a model of learning to ensure that a deep level of engagement and enjoyment is experienced by all learners. We are passionate about children’s learning, achievement and well-being. The main purpose of the job is to undertake repairs and assist with the general upkeep of the school premises to provide a safe, secure, clean, warm and welcoming environment for all site users and visitors.

Location: Rathfern Road, Catford SE6 4NL

What We Are Looking For:

  • Manage the whole school site, including all the buildings and grounds
  • Take responsibility for security
  • Assume some cleaning duties
  • Supervise contractors on site
  • Undertake a range of minor repairs, maintenance, decorating and gardening
  • Work in a flexible manner to meet the needs of the children and the school
  • Take pride in the role and ensure that the site is well-maintained with the highest standards of cleanliness and Health and Safety

Salary information: Scale 5 spine point 13 – 15, £34,863 - £35,892. Full time 35h/week, 7am – 4pm, all year round

Rathfern Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Our recruitment processes follow the guidance in the Department for Children, Schools and Families document Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education. All staff will be required to undertake a disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and you will need to provide two employers references. A satisfactory DBS must be received before employees can start work in our school. Original evidence of right to work within the United Kingdom will be required prior to commencement of employment (e.g., National Insurance Number, Work Permits or Indefinite Leave to Remain). If the applicant has lived/worked overseas for 12 months or more since the age of 18, they will also be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country(ies) they lived/worked in at their own expense and provide these for our records.
