Part Time ESOL Tutors

The role/category
Adult Learning Lewisham is looking for talented part time ESOL tutors to help enrich the lives of our learners.
Adult Learning Lewisham is proud to offer a wide range of successful ESOL programmes that support diverse groups of adult learners to develop skills, gain qualifications and flourish. We offer accredited courses from pre-entry to Level 2 and non-accredited community-based ESOL (COMESOL). We run courses at different locations across the borough with accredited courses held at our ALL learning centres (Granville Park, Brockley Rise and Grove Park). ESOL courses range from 4 hours to 10 hours per week across the academic year and take place on weekdays mornings, afternoons and evenings.
We are looking for innovative and inspiring practitioners to join our dedicated pool of tutors to deliver evening accredited ESOL courses, and/ or daytime non-accredited ESOL courses. We seek tutors who are available to also work as cover tutors and who have the experience and are willing to take part in the ESOL pre-course assessments at different times of the year. We have vacancies to deliver courses at various levels and will be looking to match tutors with specific skills and experience.
The ESOL Department has the following vacancies:
• One evening ESOL Level 1 accredited course.
The COMESOL Department has the following vacancies:
• A minimum of two daytime classes for non-accredited courses being taught for parents in schools
We are looking for individuals who:
• are passionate and dedicated to teaching adults and changing people's lives through education.
• will use their excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support adult learners from diverse backgrounds to achieve their learning goals.
• have demonstrable skills to plan and deliver an effective and engaging programme of learning for adults within their specialist subject(s) and level(s).
• are experienced in using a range of relevant, effective and inclusive teaching and learning materials, which reflect the interests and needs of the learners.
• have the confidence and ability to use ICT for planning, evidencing and delivering learning as well as supporting learners to develop their digital skills.
• are flexible and willing to take on additional duties such tutor cover and pre-course assessments
• will contribute to our development to become an outstanding provider, for example by active participation at staff meetings and sharing best practice.
Applicants must have relevant training/qualifications in the subject area. Adult Learning Lewisham offers regular training to support tutors with use of technologies and developing practices in teaching, learning and assessment.
