What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a newly qualified Litigation Lawyer to join our dynamic and busy Local Authority in-house Litigation and Prosecution Legal Team. You must have experience of Litigation, and/or Prosecution work.
The role will report to and be supervised by a Senior Lawyer in the Litigation Team. The role will require you to undertake generally straightforward litigation and/or prosecution casework, legal advice, negotiation, drafting, attendance at meetings, and/or advocacy relevant to the role.
The role will require you to prepare all legal documentation, and advise on legal matters relevant to the caseload and role, and assist other lawyers in the team in relation to more complex or specialized cases and matters, as and when required. You will carry out legal research for your own cases, and by way of support to other lawyers within the team.
Although an understanding of, and familiarity with the Local Authority environment is an advantage, we would consider any applicant with a private practice background wanting to transfer their skills into the public sector, or develop themselves in this role.

Location
Whilst the job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, SE6 4RU we operate a hybrid approach, where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. At present you will be required to work from Laurence House at least 40% of the time, and it may be necessary for you to come in for meetings, as determined by service requirements.
Special conditions
You must be a Qualified Solicitor/Barrister or CILEX in Wales and England.
You must hold a current Practising Certificate on commencement of the role.

Salary
£44,430- £46,437 per annum (PO2)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
