Hither Green Crematorium conducts around services a year. Striving to deliver the highest standard of service, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated individual to assist with both the day to day running of the Crematorium. You must have good awareness of and a commitment to Equality of Access and Opportunity in a diverse community. What’s the role?
- To supervise and actively lead a team of staff to ensure that the Crematorium operates to the highest standard at all times.
- To be responsible for the supervision of the Crematorium ensuring all aspects of the cremation process from the funeral reception, through to the disposal of cremated remains is carried out in accordance with statutory and local regulations and the Code of Cremation Practice.
- To provide general assistance to the public in the evenings, weekends and on public and bank holidays and to take and relay messages for office staff outside of office hours.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated person already holding the ICCM CTTS certificate at intermediate level, you will be required to attain the Advanced certificate within one year, as well as undertake any additional training deemed necessary for the effective execution of your duties. You will be required to assist in the planning and organisation of the Services of Remembrance and the Crematorium Open Day as well as assist with any other PR events which may be arranged. You will deputise for the Compliance and Services Manager in relation to all day to day operational Bereavement Services issues (Crematory, grounds) in his/her absence, escalating any major issues to senior management as required.

Special conditions
Must hold CTTS (Crematorium Technician Training Scheme) accreditation is needed. Weekend and bank holiday working is required for this job, but on a rota and advance warning.
