We are looking for an engaging tutor to deliver drama, creative writing and therapeutic journalling classes to adult learners in Lewisham. You will work with learners who have a wide range of learning support needs, disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and supportive classes in drama, creative writing and/or therapeutic journaling.
- Encourage self-expression and storytelling.
- Build confidence and communication skills.
- Support emotional exploration and well-being through creative practice.
- Develop imagination and creativity in a safe, inclusive environment.
Each course is 2 hours per week, once a week, over 11 weeks per term, across three terms per year. Classes take place on a set weekday, either 10:00–12:00 or 13:00–15:00. Flexibility around day and time may be required, and there may be opportunities to teach more than one class per week.
Who You’ll Teach
Adult learners with a wide range of learning support needs, disabilities and mental health conditions. Learners with SEND and mental health conditions may have experienced trauma or grief and may be living with depression, anxiety, or other challenges. Their skills may range from very low to highly developed.

- Strong background and passion in drama, creative writing or therapeutic journaling.
- Compassion and experience (or willingness to develop skills) in supporting the learners described above.
- Patient, inclusive and flexible teaching approach, with commitment to delivering high‑quality, engaging sessions.
- Creativity, energy and enthusiasm with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on learners.
