Overview
In this IT Security Manager role, you will shape and mature Lewisham Council’s cyber security capability. You’ll collaborate across the Council, Shared Technology Services, and partners to embed security into technology and projects. You will lead on risk, governance, and incident response, translating security into business terms for senior leaders. The role combines strategic direction with hands-on oversight to build a strong security culture and resilient services.

Responsibilities
- Shape and evolve the cyber security strategy and improvement roadmap
- Provide security assurance for new technology, projects and digital solutions
- Lead on cyber risk, governance and compliance with government and industry requirements
- Collaborate with STS and other suppliers to oversee security controls, vulnerabilities and risks
- Coordinate and lead security incident responses and ensure lessons are embedded
- Advise senior leaders on security risks and practical mitigations
- Foster a strong security culture across IT & Digital Services and the wider Council
Key requirements
- Experience in security strategy and governance
