Introduction
As the Curriculum Leader you will lead on operational management of the English and Community ESOL provision, managing performance of all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment across this provision at Adult Learning Lewisham.

The role involves providing expert support and guidance to English and ESOL practitioners who deliver accredited and non‐accredited provision at our centres and at various locations across Lewisham borough.

What's the role?
This is an exciting role working closely with curriculum colleagues and management teams and guided by the Ofsted Inspection Framework. You will ensure effective implementation of quality improvement strategies and contribute to continuous improvements across the service through regular self assessments, classroom support visits and observation reports, whilst enhancing learner outcomes through effective implementation of RARPA, use of technologies and inclusive practices. You will engage in external partnerships with local schools, libraries and third party organisations to coordinate a wide range of English programmes that meet Lewisham's local priorities and deliver outstanding learner experiences, consistently maintaining high standards in teaching, learning and assessment.

Reporting to the Curriculum Area Manager for Skills for Life and Supported Learning, you will work cross‐curricular and alongside MIS, business resources and Exams departments. This is a hands‐on role, combining expertise, excellent communication skills and effective management to make a meaningful difference to learners whilst raising overall achievements.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for a qualified English subject specialist with a strong commitment to adult lifelong learning and improving English skills and opportunities for adults.

With a minimum of five years teaching accredited English qualifications, you have a recognised track record of operational leadership and management in an adult community learning environment. You will bring in‐depth subject knowledge based on your teaching experience and an excellent understanding of initial assessment, advice and recruitment of learners to accredited and non‐accredited English and ESOL programmes.

Your understanding and knowledge of Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications will ensure high teaching and learning standards supporting the quality assurance required by Pearson's and funders.

An effective curriculum leader with experience in developing a responsive curriculum that offers good value whilst meeting the needs of all learners, community groups and other stakeholders. Your excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills support the development of teaching staff and implementation of e‐learning and inclusive strategies contributing to the enhancements of effective delivery methods including standardisation of e‐learning platforms such as Moodle, Google Classroom improving learners' independent learning and outcomes for all learners.

With strong communication skills you are able to use and draw from different management information systems to analyse data for reporting and development of improvement strategies in TLA.

Location
The job is primarily based in Brockley Rise Centre, 2 Brockley Rise, London, SE23 1PR, Granville Park Centre, Granville Park, London, SE13 7DU or Grove Park Centre, 333‐335 Baring Road, London, SE12 0DZ, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£45,852 - £47,925 per annum (PO2). All appointments will be offered at the minimum SCP for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) which is subject to evidential proof.
