About the Role
We're seeking a talented Business Intelligence Lead to shape and improve services for children and young people through high‑quality analysis, performance intelligence and data‑driven insight.
The role combines technical expertise with stakeholder engagement to influence outcomes, support inspections, improve performance and ensure statutory reporting compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative reporting solutions, predictive analytics and performance frameworks that support operational and strategic priorities across the directorate.
- Transform complex data into meaningful insight that drives service improvement, supports decision‑making and demonstrates impact.
- Translate technical information and large volumes of data into clear, accessible and actionable intelligence for senior leaders and partners.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements across Children’s Social Care, Education, SEND and Youth Justice, maintaining expert knowledge of legislative changes and national data returns.
- Maintain advanced technical expertise in SQL, Power BI, data modelling, dashboard development and other business intelligence tools.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong programming, coding and analytical skills, with proven experience in SQL, Power BI, data modelling and business intelligence tools.
- Problem‑solving mindset and ability to turn complex data challenges into practical solutions.
- Curiosity and drive to innovate and use data and technology to improve services.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling insight for diverse audiences.
- Commitment to staying abreast of legislative, regulatory and statutory reporting changes to keep information accurate, compliant and fit for purpose.

The role is based primarily in Laurence House but offers a hybrid approach, allowing up to three days per week of work from home as per business needs.

Salary
£60,633 – £62,742 per annum (P07). All appointments start at the minimum salary point for the role; higher offers are subject to evidential proof.
