About Us

The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools is a multi‑academy trust comprising three schools:

  • Prendergast Ladywell School
  • Prendergast School
  • Prendergast Vale School

Your Role

As a co‑opted governor, you will:

  • Scrutinise the school improvement plan and hold school leaders accountable for its delivery.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of policies related to safeguarding, SEND, pupil premium, and equalities.
  • Listen to and collaborate with pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community, including local employers.
  • Serve on headteacher recruitment panels and participate in Ofsted inspections.

Commitment

  • Attend four local governing body meetings per year (approximately 2 hours each).
  • Participate in 1‑2 monitoring visits to your allocated school.
  • Read relevant materials and engage fully during meetings.
  • School visits are expected.
