Lewisham Council is looking for an Asset Manager who will be responsible for the overall development and delivery of the Asset Management strategy for Housing Quality & Investment. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver planned, capital and compliance programmes using stock condition, performance and financial data to prioritise investment, manage risk and maximise asset value. You will act as a key advisor to Senior Leadership, balancing resident outcomes, statutory obligations and budget restraints.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in asset management within a local authority or social housing environment.
  • Strong understanding of housing regulation, building safety, compliance, and investment planning.
  • Ability to use asset data and financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and long‑term programmes.
  • Demonstrable leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
  • Sound commercial awareness, balancing value for money with resident outcomes and statutory duties.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of governance and data accuracy.

Location: The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special Conditions:

  • Degree‑level qualification or experience in Asset Management, Construction, Surveying, Housing, Property, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Some evening and weekend resident focused event attendance may be required.
  • The job is subject to a Basic DBS check.

Salary: £64,938 - £69,660 per annum (SMG1)
