Employing almost 7,500 colleagues, affectionately known as Team LGT, we provide services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, University Hospital Lewisham, and at over a dozen community settings in Lewisham. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who has strong experience in operations management within a healthcare setting to manage the daily operations for the anaesthetics, critical care, and pain teams.
Main duties of the job:
- A strong demonstrated knowledge of RTT management.
- Provide ongoing support to the anaesthetics and ICU Clinical Directors with recruitment & job planning, service management, and escalations.
- Tracking and ownership of all complaints relating to the departments.
- Ownership and management of the departments budget and spend.
- Strong management and support of the Critical Care, Anaesthetics, and Pain administration teams.
- Ensuring the clinical rotas are coordinated and managed appropriately cross-site.
- To work at both UHL and QEH sites to ensure on-site team support is available and visible.
Person specification:
Training & Qualifications
- Essential criteria: Education to degree level or evidence of sound intellectual ability and ongoing personal development at senior management level. Recognised post-graduate management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Desirable criteria: Masters level education.
Experience
- Essential criteria: Significant general and operational management experience, including the management of a large multidisciplinary group of staff. A proven record of success in managing significant operational/strategic change. Experience of team working and building effective working relationships. Demonstrable ability to lead and influence.
Knowledge
- Essential criteria: Quality-focused with an innovative approach and ability to solve complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyse complex situations and make decisions within agreed guidelines.
Personal Qualities
- Essential criteria: Proven self-confidence and ability to state own position on issues. Flexibility - adapts to ensure achievement of objectives within constantly changing situations. Commitment to ongoing lifelong learning and personal development.
