Purpose of the role

This is a senior, client-facing role for a digital and paid media specialist. You will lead the planning, activation, and optimisation of paid campaigns across a mix of digital channels, helping clients achieve objectives across brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.

You’ll bring hands-on platform expertise and strategic advice, ideally with a mix of experience across B2B and B2C audiences and campaigns. You will own client relationships and account delivery, use data to demonstrate performance and impact, and contribute to account growth and new business. You’ll also help develop junior colleagues’ skills in paid media and digital marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-funnel paid media and digital strategies that support client goals, including brand awareness and lead generation, and connect with wider PR, content, and marketing activity.
  • Plan, activate, and optimise campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Google, YouTube, and Meta, using hands-on expertise in targeting, budgets, testing, and bidding.
  • Advise clients on platform trends, advertising opportunities, and new formats; present recommendations and results to strengthen relationships and improve performance.
  • Manage campaign budgets and account commercials, monitor spend and use clear reporting on performance and ROI to make data-led recommendations.
  • Identify account growth and new-business opportunities, collaborating with creative and specialist teams to deliver work.
  • Help develop junior colleagues’ skills in paid social and digital activation; this is not a hands-on content-creation role.

About you

You are a digitally focused, client facing individual with strong paid expertise and a growth mindset. You are a ‘hands-on doer’ with the flexibility to move confidently between planning and activation. You enjoy using data to understand what is working and recommend what to do next. You have experience working with B2B and B2C clients and understand how to use paid channels to reach business audiences.

You are comfortable owning client relationships and workstreams with autonomy, communicating clearly with clients, and helping them connect campaign activity to business outcomes. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and supporting junior colleagues. You enjoy collaborating effectively with strategy, creative and content teams.

Experience and skills

  • Experience in a communications, digital, media, or marketing agency, with a strong focus on paid social and digital marketing.
  • Experience working with B2B clients; experience across B2C or consumer-facing campaigns is also valuable.
  • Demonstrable experience planning and activating paid social campaigns across platforms such as Google, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Meta.
  • Experience managing significant campaign budgets and optimizing performance against agreed objectives.
  • Strong understanding of growth marketing, full-funnel activity, and the different roles of brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Confidence using data and analytics to measure results, report on ROI, and make practical recommendations.
  • An understanding of wider digital trends, advertising products, and emerging formats.
  • Strong client-facing, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, account growth, and new-business opportunities.

This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the responsibilities for this role. Other responsibilities may be added from time to time.
