This job is with Lewis Silkin LLP, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. Please do not contact the recruiter directly.
About the Team:
The Applications team at Lewis Silkin is made up of Products, Data & Architecture and Finance Transformation. This role will sit within the Portfolio team who heavily support and develop the D365 CRM/CSM products. D365 and the use of the Power Platform sits at the heart of the CTO strategy. Utilising it we endeavour to create exciting and efficient solutions for the wider business.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Power Platform Product Specialist to join the Business Applications team within the Applications function. You will design, build and support Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and increasingly Copilot Studio) that make life better for the people working across Lewis Silkin, and for the clients we serve.
You will work hand-in-glove with our Microsoft Platform Architect, who sets the architectural direction and best practice for our D365 and Power Platform estate; you will bring their designs to life and feed real-world build experience back into how the platform evolves. You will also work closely with our Delivery Analyst, who will bring you well-shaped stories with clear acceptance criteria and run the sprint cadence you build within, so you can spend your time doing what you do best.
Alongside build work, you will help administer and continuously improve our D365 suite, our client-facing extranets and portals, and the wider Microsoft tooling the firm relies on. Because the Applications function is a growing team, this is a genuine opportunity to shape how Power Platform is used across the firm; the governance, the patterns, the guardrails, and the citizen-development story that sits alongside it.
Key Responsibilities
Build
- Design, develop and customise Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio) against stories shaped by the Delivery Analyst and architectural patterns set by the Microsoft Platform Architect.
- Build in line with our platform standards; environments, ALM, security, and integration patterns.
- Contribute to peer reviews and pair with other developers in the Dev Squad on complex problems.
Administer and Improve
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of our D365 suite, our extranets and portals, and other Microsoft-based internal applications.
- Take ownership of support escalations coming through the Service Desk, working with the Microsoft Platform Architect where architectural input is needed.
- Maintain clear documentation; solution designs, configuration decisions and user guides.
Collaborate and communicate
- Work closely with the Delivery Analyst, the Microsoft Platform Engineer, business stakeholders and our Microsoft delivery partner to turn business needs into working software.
- Contribute training material, run user-group sessions where useful, and help the wider firm get more from the platform.
- Stay current on the Microsoft roadmap; flag features and patterns that would move the dial for Lewis Silkin.
Planning
- Contribute to business cases and options papers by carrying out proportionate research and prototyping.
- Review the effectiveness of what we have built and feed learnings back into the roadmap.
About You:
You are a curious, hands-on builder who enjoys shipping useful things and iterating them; you like being close to the users you build for, and you take pride in leaving something better than you found it. You are just as happy pairing with a fellow developer as you are walking a lawyer through a new form, and you know that the best Power Platform solutions come from a mix of good architecture and good listening.
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven hands-on experience building on the Power Platform; Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate and, ideally, Power Pages.
- Working knowledge of Dataverse, and a solid grasp of the wider Microsoft ecosystem (M365, D365).
- Comfort building alongside an architect; taking design guidance, applying platform standards, and feeding real-world learnings back.
- Good instincts for governance, security and ALM within the Power Platform.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills; happy to take support escalations and turn them into permanent fixes.
- Clear communication skills, in writing and in person, with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-100, PL-200, PL-400 or PL-600 (ideal, however not essential).
- Familiarity with Copilot Studio, AI Builder or Azure integration services (ideal, however not essential).
- Familiarity with NetDocuments or a similar DMS (ideal, however not essential).
- Experience working within a legal or professional services environment (ideal, however not essential).
