Location: Kingsman House Care Home, 11-13 Branksome Wood Road, Bournemouth BH2 6BT – 3rd Floor, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care Wing only.
Purpose: To support the wellbeing and comfort of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care clients by maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment in one designated area of the care home in order to make them welcoming and secure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitise a specific area of the care home (a wing) as assigned including toilet areas.
- Dust, hoover, polish, mop floors, toilets and wipe down surfaces as needed.
- Dispose of waste in appropriate bins and maintain general tidiness.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including the use of provided cleaning materials and protective equipment.
- Report any maintenance or cleanliness issues to Kingsman House staff.

- Reliable and punctual.
- Friendly and respectful toward residents and staff.
- Able to follow instructions and work independently.
Training and Support: Volunteers will receive an induction, relevant training, and ongoing support from the Volunteer Manager at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, and staff at Kingsman Care Home. All cleaning supplies and protective equipment will be provided. You may be required to attend, from time to time, training, or meetings as required by the needs of the charity. Volunteers will be given the entry numbers to the building and therefore the duties of this role will be of a routine and planned nature. As part of our volunteer onboarding procedure, this post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Disclosures provide details of a person’s criminal record, including convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held on the Police National Computer as well as information on whether or not someone is barred from working with vulnerable people including children. Lewis-Manning will cover the costs of this check. X2 references upon application will be required. This volunteer role description may be subject to change according to the needs of the service.
