We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Complementary Therapist to join our hospice team on a bank basis. This rewarding role involves delivering touch‑based therapies, including massage and reflexology, to patients living with life‑limiting illnesses. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting symptom management and enhancing wellbeing alongside clinical care. The role requires sensitive patient interaction, promoting comfort, relaxation and holistic support for both body and mind. The successful candidate will work across our health hub sites in East Dorset and BCP, so the ability to travel independently is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, professional complementary therapies (massage and reflexology) to hospice patients
- Support symptom control, relaxation and emotional wellbeing through therapeutic touch
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to complement clinical interventions
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and the wider care team
- Maintain accurate treatment records in line with hospice policies
- Ensure all therapies are delivered in a safe, person‑centred and compassionate manner

About You
- Holds recognised qualifications in massage and reflexology
- Has experience delivering complementary therapies in a healthcare or palliative care setting (desirable)
- Demonstrates compassion, empathy and excellent interpersonal skills
- Confident working with patients with complex needs
- Passionate about the value of complementary therapies in palliative care
- Flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle
