Lewis Davey is delighted to be supporting a boutique service provider in energy, sustainability and ESG that works across commercial real estate, private equity and corporate markets providing consulting services. Through a range of services, including an ESG SAAS product, they help their clients make better decisions, integrate sustainability into their business, and create innovative & responsible solutions for their assets.
Delivering advisory work across carbon, energy, and ESG management, with a strong emphasis on navigating ESG legislation and implementing tech-enabled solutions, our client is looking for an Associate Director / Head of Advisory who can play an integral role in developing and shaping the business. Having been established now for approaching a decade, our client is nicely poised between a stable start-up and one positioned for growth. This is a full-time, permanent role in the UK. Applicants must have a long term right to work and be willing to work in a hybrid capacity in London.
Applicants will be welcomed from those who can manage, mentor and grow a small but growing team of consultants. You will have a track record in winning new business and driving value from existing client relationships.
In terms of projects, you will play a leading role overseeing a range of evolving multi-disciplinary ESG and sustainability projects, including:
- Carbon footprints & Scope 3 assessments, carbon reduction initiatives, Science-Based Targets (SBTs), net zero strategies, TPT alignment
- Advising clients on ESG legislation in the EU, including but not limited to climate resilience and adaptation (TCFD, IFRS S2, ESOS, MEES, SECR, SFDR at firm and fund level, CSRD and EU Taxonomy)
- Carbon, energy, & sustainability benchmarking (GRESB, CDP, UN PRI, SASB, GRI, IFRS S1, UN Global Compact, SDGs and BCorp)
- Responsible investment programmes (RI)
- Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategies
- Impact investing (IFC Operating Principles for Impact Management) and SFDR Article 8 and 9
- Stakeholder communications & engagement
- Health & wellbeing (working towards WELL Certification, FitWel, UK/WGBC Framework)
- ESG communications, including ESG policies and annual sustainability reports
- Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- ESG due diligence
What's more, you will possess excellent client and team management skills and have a track record of building and maintaining senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on sustainability and ESG matters. You will be adept at leading workshops, presenting findings, and delivering strategic insights to client stakeholders and mentoring and managing junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture based on our team and company values.
Ideally, you will have experience within real estate but we will also consider applicants who have consulted across private equity or with corporate clients. You will benefit from a comprehensive understanding of ESG and sustainability challenges, have deep knowledge of ESG legislation and regulatory frameworks, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SECR, TCFD, IFRS S2, SFDR and other compliance requirements, have proficiency in carbon accounting methodologies (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), standards (ISO 14064, GHG Protocol), and neutrality frameworks (PAS 2060) and have familiarity with climate risk assessments, LCA software, and science-based target setting.
