Based in Newhaven but can be asked to work anywhere in the Lewes and Eastbourne area.
Working in the Waste and Recycling Team, you will need to be flexible to carry out a variety of waste/recycling collections and street cleaning duties with a total commitment to customer care, providing a quality service for residents and customer of Lewes District.
This is a physically demanding role, working outdoors in all weather. You will need to be able to undertake the heavy manual operation and activities associated with the job. You will be required to have a minimum Cat B licence.
This role is for working weekends and bank holidays cleansing streets and emptying bins.
You will need to be trained and fully familiar with manual handling and lifting techniques and work in accordance with the council's health and safety policies and safe systems of work.
You will be an ambassador of the council and a positive role model for your fellow work colleagues, promoting diversity and equalities and inclusivity.
You will be required to carry out `catch-up work` and may be required to assist outside normal hours with emergency works.
