Retail Chef – The Role
With support & mentorship from the venue Head Chef, the overall purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth operation & delivery of our retail culinary vison within one of Birmingham’s leading entertainment venues, that is known for hosting some of the biggest artists from the world of music, comedy and sport.
- As The Retail Chef You Will Be Responsible For
- Food preparation and cooking: Oversee & participate in the preparation of cooking of our retail concepts, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, taste & presentation while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Team Leadership and
Management: Lead, mentor and manage the kitchen team including casual chefs and kitchen assistants, to maintain a cohesive, efficient and productive work environment.
Provide training and support to your team relevant to large scale event catering.
- Budget & Cost Control: Control food costs and source ingredients economically without compromising on quality or nutritional value.
- Health & Safety
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations, food hygiene standards and dietary requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation, implementing quality control measures and continuously seeking ways to improve the culinary offerings.
- Inventory Management Oversee the ordering, storage and management of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring efficient stock control and minimising waste.

Experience: Proven experience as a chef ideally from a live events led business or high-volume catering would be desirable, however, a willingness to learn and undertake training is also valued.

- Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the venue and it’s schedules.
