More about the role:
Levy UK is the official catering partner to Chelsea Football Club responsible for the catering across the Chelsea Football Club estate, including Stamford Bridge stadium, Chelsea FC’s training facility in Cobham and Kingsmeadow Women’s stadium in Kingston. Levy UK at Chelsea Football Club cater for an estimated 1.15 million fans annually; delivering catering across 43 public outlets, 58 boxes and 20 suites on match-days.
Scope of Role:
- Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness and organisation of the Men's 1st team kitchen at Cobham training ground
- Focusing on the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dishwashing processes, stock control, waste management and ensuring a safe working environment
- Effectively communicating with Culinary and front of house teams to ensure high standards are met and exceeded
- Train and supervise new variable staff members and adapt to bespoke client and team requests
Person Specification:
- Proven experience working in a similar role in a high-volume multi kitchen environment
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Health & safety regulations and best practices
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and communication purposes
Focus Areas:
Operations- Managing the dishwashing process and coordinating equipment maintenance
- Ensuring high hygiene standards of kitchen equipment, utensils and workspaces
- Monitoring and managing cleaning supplies and equipment inventory
- Assist with basic food preparation with direction of culinary team
- Implementing effective waste disposal practices in accordance with regulations
- Maintaining clear communication channels with the kitchen and other departments
- Adapting to changing priorities and assisting with additional tasks as required
- Implement and enforce Health & Safety procedures as advised by the Executive Chef and Operations Manager
- Work with the onsite HSE champion to ensure Silver standards are delivered and maintained
- Demonstrate that you take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others
- To ensure compliance with all H&S processes throughout the venue and business
- Take action for any incidences of fire, damage, loss, refrigerator breakdowns or other occurrences and make the senior team aware of any ongoing issues
- Provide training and support for variable and agency kitchen porters, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the Constellation and senior team to ensure the best quality kitchen porters are booked in to work
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to convey expectations, provide feedback and address concerns with the team
- Monitor and manage inventory to control costs
- Report any financial or operations concern to the senior chef team
- Provide regular updates about breakages, stock levels and equipment requirements to the senior team, sourcing internally where necessary
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when interacting with players, coaching staff and other club personnel
- Handle any player or staff information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion
- Uphold the standards and values of Chelsea and Levy UK in all aspects of the role
Hours of work:
Hours of work will be determined by the needs of the business and subject to the Working Time Directive and any Workforce agreement that is in place. This role will involve evening and weekend working.
