ROLE PURPOSE:
We\’re recruiting an experienced Catering Lounge Supervisor who is passionate about exceptional food and customer service, and who can confidently oversee on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining hygiene standards, managing stock, and leading a dedicated team to provide exceptional meals for staff at ExCel London.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIIES:
- Oversee the daily operations of the staff canteen, ensuring efficiency and high service standards.
- Manage and supervise kitchen and service staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Implement menus in collaboration with chefs, considering staff preferences and dietary requirements.
- Maintain food quality, hygiene, and health & safety standards in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure availability of fresh ingredients/ menu throughout the day.
- Oversee budgeting and cost control to ensure profitability and waste reduction.
- Ensure excellent customer service and address any staff feedback or concerns.
- Coordinate with FOH teams to adjust catering needs based on peak and off-peak times.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or catering industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Budgeting and cost-control experience.
- A passion for high-quality food service and staff well-being.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working in large-scale catering or event-based environments.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management.
