Our client is building a high-performance, on-premise datacentre and research platform where the network is treated as software. This role sits at the heart of that platform. You’ll help automate everything from intent and design through to provisioning, validation, telemetry, and remediation turning complex network operations into safe, repeatable, code-driven workflows.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and evolve a network automation framework: source of truth, templating, validation, and change control
- Build idempotent automation to provision and operate datacentre fabrics at scale
- Integrate with vendor APIs and SDKs (e.g. network OS APIs, validation platforms)
- Capture network intent as code, with peer reviews and quality gates
- Instrument the network with telemetry, alerting, and SLOs to enable automated remediation
- Apply NetDevOps practices and help raise the bar across the team
- Collaborate with network and platform engineers to translate designs into automated workflows
- Deliver frequent, incremental improvements through safe, tested changes
- Track vendor and industry developments and propose pragmatic adoption paths
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Advanced Python for production-grade tools and services
- Go (preferred) for performant, long-running tooling
- Ansible (roles, collections, structured data models in YAML/JSON)
- Git workflows: branching, pull requests, semantic versioning
- Source of truth / CMDB systems (e.g. NetBox, Nautobot)
- Network validation & testing (pyATS, NAPALM, or similar)
- Linux networking fundamentals (iptables, DHCP, DNS) and Bash scripting
- Observability: metrics, logs, tracing (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalents)
- Secrets & config management (Vault, PKI best practices)
- Workflow orchestration (Temporal or similar)
- Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with datacentre fabrics, QoS, and high-performance networking
