Position Overview
Contract - 6 months
Seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Engineer to join a Storage Engineering team. This role focuses on platform integration, compliance testing, and process documentation to ensure a high-performance storage system (part of a new HPC environment) meets operational and security standards ahead of go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Integration & Readiness
- Integrate storage platforms with secure access, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Collaborate with datacenter, network, Linux, and security teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Liaise with the storage vendor to log and track defects, implementing remediations as required.
- Compliance Testing & Evidence
- Develop and execute test plans to benchmark and validate storage systems.
- Document compliance evidence for internal audit.
- Maintain testing frameworks and automate compliance monitoring.
- Process Documentation
- Create comprehensive technical documentation for storage procedures.
- Develop standard operating procedures for storage administration tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Alertmanager, Victoria Metrics/Logs).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience with enterprise storage technologies.
- Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent).
- Experience with containerized storage solutions (Docker volumes, Kubernetes persistent volumes).
- Knowledge of cloud and cloud storage services (AWS S3).
