Seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to join our client. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale Azure environment, helping to build, automate and evolve a modern cloud platform that supports critical business services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on platform engineering, automation, security, networking and cloud operations.
The Role
You'll play a key role in designing, building and supporting enterprise Azure platform services while driving automation, governance and operational excellence across a complex cloud estate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building, maintaining and enhancing Azure platform services
- Developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Improving Azure Landing Zones, governance and security controls
- Automating cloud deployments and operational processes
- Managing Azure networking, connectivity and platform resilience
- Enhancing monitoring, logging and observability across the platform
- Collaborating with engineering teams to deliver scalable cloud capabilities
- Supporting cloud modernisation initiatives and adoption of emerging Azure technologies, including AI services where appropriate
Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure in large enterprise environments
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Azure Landing Zones, Policy and Governance
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
- Azure Networking including Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints and DNS
- Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Azure Front Door
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and observability tooling
- GitHub and/or Azure DevOps
- Strong platform engineering and automation experience
- FinOps or Azure cost optimisation
- Azure Container Apps or container technologies
- Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments
