I’m currently working on a fantastic opportunity for a strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA contractor to join a highly technical infrastructure team supporting complex production environments.
Key responsibilities:
- PostgreSQL database administration and production support
- Performance tuning and optimisation
- High availability, replication, backup & disaster recovery
- Monitoring and troubleshooting database issues
- Supporting migrations/upgrades and platform improvements
- Working closely with infrastructure and engineering teams
- Ensuring security, reliability and scalability across the database environment
Tech environment:
- PostgreSQL
- Linux
- Cloud platforms – primarily Amazon Web Services / Aurora / RDS
- CI/CD, Terraform and automation tooling exposure beneficial
Looking for:
- Strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience, ideally over 7 years of experience
- Experience supporting large-scale or high-availability environments
- Good understanding of query performance and PostgreSQL internals
- Comfortable working in fast-paced engineering-driven environments
- Great communication skills
