We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented finance professional to join an established financial services institution in London. This role sits within a small, high-performing finance team and offers broad exposure across financial reporting, control, and regulatory deliverables.
The Role
You will support the Head of Finance in overseeing core financial processes, with a particular focus on month-end close, management reporting, and financial control. The position offers exposure to senior stakeholders and plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership and delivery of month-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and MI packs for senior management
- Contribution to board and committee reporting, including financial analysis and commentary
- Preparation of annual financial statements and support through the audit process
- Monitoring financial performance, identifying variances, and providing insight into trends
- Support with budgeting and business planning processes
- Involvement in regulatory reporting and financial submissions
- Application of relevant accounting standards, including IFRS, within a financial services environment
Requirements
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial controls
- Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders
Background
- Experience within banking or financial services is preferred
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience within a regulated environment is advantageous
