An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious banking professional to join the Islamic Banking division of a well-established international bank.

This role will suit candidates with 3+ years' experience within Islamic banking who are looking to broaden their exposure across business support, governance, product implementation and stakeholder management.

Working closely with the Head of Islamic Banking, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Islamic banking initiatives, coordinating with internal stakeholders and ensuring governance requirements are effectively maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and delivery of Islamic Banking initiatives and business objectives.
  • Act as a central point of coordination between Credit, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Treasury, IT and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefing papers, meeting packs and supporting documentation for governance meetings and Sharia-related discussions.
  • Maintain governance records, approval logs and implementation trackers, ensuring accurate audit trails.
  • Assist with management reporting, business planning and performance monitoring.
  • Support internal audits, governance reviews and the timely completion of agreed actions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure Islamic banking processes and controls are effectively implemented.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years' experience within Islamic Banking or Islamic Finance.
  • Good understanding of Islamic finance principles, products and banking operations.
  • Experience working within a UK-regulated banking environment.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across different business areas.
  • Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Islamic Finance or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Professional Islamic Finance qualifications (such as CISI IFQ) would be advantageous.
