About the Role
This is a full-time UK-based (must be within ~2 hours of London for regular office days) Full Stack Software Engineer role.
The Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain backend services and frontend web applications that power Levl’s global payment infrastructure, focusing on reliability, scalability, and security.
Daily work includes implementing new features, optimizing APIs and data flows, integrating with internal and external payment systems, and collaborating with product and operations teams to solve complex payment and infrastructure challenges.
The role also involves writing clean, testable code, participating in code reviews, improving system performance, and contributing to architectural decisions and documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Programming using Java and familiarity with microservices architectures.
- Experience in Backend Software Development, ideally in a fintech, payments, or trading environment.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience working with REST APIs, databases (SQL), message buses, and event-driven architectures.
- Comfortable with cloud platforms (e. g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of payments, crypto, or FX trading is a strong plus.
- Evidence of having worked successfully in a fast-paced working environment (such as fast-growing startup) is a strong plus
- Ability to collaborate in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
