A boutique investment management firm is looking for an experienced business development professional to expand its presence across the UK wealth and wholesale market. This is a senior, client-facing role with a strong emphasis on relationship building and asset raising, alongside a meaningful strategic remit. The position offers the opportunity to take genuine ownership of a channel, shaping how the firm approaches and prioritises the market while driving commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Driving proactive outreach and developing relationships across the UK wealth and wholesale landscape
  • Focusing on discretionary wealth managers, engaging with investment managers, research teams and investment committees
  • Building and managing a robust prospect pipeline, converting relationships into funded mandates
  • Contributing to and influencing business development strategy, including market mapping, segmentation and coverage approach
  • Overseeing the day-to-day BD process, working collaboratively with existing internal resources

Candidate profile

  • 7+ years’ experience in investment management sales or business development
  • Strong, established network within UK wealth management, with the ability to generate access independently
  • Demonstrable track record of raising assets within institutional and/or wealth channels
  • Experience operating at a strategic level, shaping BD initiatives rather than purely executing against them
  • A self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial, boutique environment and values a collaborative culture
  • Familiarity with and ability to represent a fundamental, bottom-up investment approach
