London, United Kingdom (Hybrid) Our client is a globally established investment manager with deep capabilities across public and private markets. With a long-term strategic focus on private assets, they are investing in the continued growth of their European real estate platform and are seeking to hire an experienced Investment Director. This individual will play a leading role in the commercialisation of the platform’s real estate capabilities, with a focus on bespoke solutions, new product development and the expansion of its impact-led strategies. This is a hands-on, high-impact position suited to someone who combines technical acumen with emotional intelligence and can navigate complexity within a global matrix structure.
The Role
- You will operate at the intersection of investment strategy, client needs and product design, working closely with internal stakeholders (investment, distribution, product, legal) and external clients to drive innovation and capital raising across real estate strategies.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Positioning and supporting flagship discretionary funds (e.g. UK Core, European Core, Impact)
- Designing and delivering bespoke solutions including segregated mandates and thematic strategies
- Supporting capital raising by crafting narratives, pricing proposals and product structures
- Acting as a commercial lead across new fund development and cross-functional product design
- Representing the real estate capability internally and externally with institutional investors
- Leading efforts in growing the impact investing platform, including strategy articulation and investor engagement
- Working with distribution and investment to test new ideas before leading to formal product development
- Ensuring that operational infrastructure (e.g. reporting, data, fund governance) can support the client requirements
What We're Looking For
- We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded individual with real assets experience and, ideally, a background in complex, multi-asset organisations.
- Essential qualifications and attributes include:
- 10–15 years' experience in real estate, real assets or private markets investing
- Strong track record of engaging institutional investors with technical credibility
- Demonstrated success in solution-led product development and commercial structuring
- High EQ – must influence across internal functions in a constructive and collaborative manner
- Experience working in environments with competing priorities and evolving structures
- Strong understanding of fund structuring, investor needs and operational limitations
- A proactive, resilient mindset – comfortable operating in a rich and sometimes ‘analogue’ infrastructure
- Exposure to impact strategies, thematic investing or ESG-led propositions is strongly preferred
- Willingness to travel across Europe and the Middle East as needed
