A privately held asset management firm is seeking to recruit an Investment Analyst to join its investment team based in London. The firm is a well-established and successful asset manager with a multi-decade track record of outperformance relative to industry benchmarks. Investment activities are conducted through its London office, and the firm manages assets on behalf of a broad institutional client base.

The Role

Our client is seeking an investment analyst who enjoys researching companies and has a strong interest in investing. The role is focused on fundamental, bottom-up equity research within a generalist, ex-US equity investment approach. Coverage will include publicly listed companies across international equity markets. The majority of time will be spent conducting research and writing detailed investment research reports to support investment decision-making. The role requires the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small investment team. The role requires full-time, five-days-per-week attendance at the firm’s London office. International travel will be required as part of the role.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate with a good degree pass
  • CFA charterholder (additional qualifications may be beneficial)
  • Five to ten years’ experience working in financial markets, primarily as an investment analyst
  • Essential, practical knowledge of financial accounting principles and financial accounts, gained through on-the-job experience (for example, within public accounting firms, financial services research groups, asset management firms, corporate roles or similar environments)

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Multilingual abilities are preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of FactSet or similar research tools is helpful but not essential
