A leading UK asset owner is recruiting an Associate (Private Markets) to join its expanding private markets platform. The investment team spans private equity, venture capital, private credit and infrastructure, with portfolios comprising both fund commitments and selective co-investments. The team has recently evolved into a fully integrated structure, offering exceptional breadth and exposure across all private asset classes.
The role is well-suited to someone early in their private-markets career who enjoys both analytical depth and broad portfolio engagement. The environment is highly collaborative, low-ego, and focused on intellectual curiosity and independent thinking.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake fund underwriting and due diligence across private equity, VC, infrastructure and private credit.
- Support assessment of co-investment opportunities, including financial analysis and strategy evaluation.
- Monitor existing investments, providing analysis on performance trends, risks, and portfolio construction considerations.
- Lead and maintain asset-class data within internal and external systems, ensuring accuracy and usefulness for decision-making.
- Produce written materials, reports and insights for investment discussions and committee review.
- Participate in manager meetings, preparing structured notes, asking questions and providing independent challenge.
- Contribute to broader portfolio decisions by identifying cross-asset implications and opportunities.
- 2–3 years’ experience in private markets, ideally within infrastructure or private credit.
- Experience underwriting funds and comfort with transactional assessment.
- Able to work independently yet collaboratively.
- Low-ego, curious, motivated to learn across multiple private strategies.
- Degree-educated; CFA/CAIA sponsorship supported but not required.
