A well-known Investment Bank is seeking a Senior Financials Trader to join their team in London.

Overall Purpose of the role: You will join the Flow Credit Trading team as a market maker for Financial bonds.

Main Responsibilities of the role: Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that client needs and expectations are met consistently, professionally, and reliably while complying with the bank's risk management framework and the 'Asset light' Origination to Distribution strategy of the Bank.
  • Market making for Financial bonds, specifically senior and subordinated bonds, and managing the risk arising from this trading activity on a dedicated book.
  • Supporting our strong primary business by providing pricing and market colour, and being ready to engage with our clients in the secondary market.
  • Engaging and interacting with clients daily, presenting trade ideas and meeting clients regularly.
  • Participating in regular internal meetings with other traders, sales, origination, and management.

Opportunities and Strengths of the Position: You will contribute to the growth of the Flow Credit Trading business within a strong team composed of originators, traders, salespeople, and credit analysts. You will meet our clients, particularly in Paris and London, through meetings and conferences. You will work in an international environment within a community of experts who place excellence, impact, and collective action at the heart of everything they undertake.

Job Requirements:

  • The credit fundamentals of European Banks and Insurers and the dynamics of the Financials bond market.
  • Bonds, CDS, credit indices, and the autonomous management of a trading book.

You have excellent interpersonal skills, a great ability to listen, and you are:

  • Analytical and rigorous;
  • Capable of managing stress on a trading floor;
  • Autonomous and able to make quick decisions.
