A client of ours is seeking an experienced Network Project Engineer with a strong background in IP/MPLS technologies to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of network infrastructure projects. Working closely with both design and project management teams, you will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to final client handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy IP/MPLS network architectures, including hands-on hardware validation in a lab environment, on-site testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Quickly diagnose and resolve network issues to ensure minimal service disruption.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze network performance, implementing optimization strategies as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, updates, and change management.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of MPLS solutions.
- Client Support: Provide expert technical support, advice, and operational documentation to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience (Ideal but not mandatory)
- Education: Formal qualifications in IT or Networking, ideally at degree level.
- Certifications: Nokia Network Routing Specialist II (NRS II), Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA).
- Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of traffic engineering and network resiliency techniques, proficiency with Nokia’s MD-CLI and other proprietary tools, hands-on experience with Nokia hardware, particularly the 7750 SR series, strong knowledge of MPLS protocols such as LDP and RSVP-TE, solid foundation in Cyber Security principles and configuration of secure networks.
Additional Information
- Working Conditions: Based in Woolwich, SE18 with frequent site visits within Greater London. Some night shifts required during key commissioning phases.
- Security Clearance: All candidates must be eligible to pass government-level security clearance (e.g., no criminal record).
- Drugs & Alcohol Testing: Regular testing is mandatory due to the safety-critical nature of our systems and project environments.
