We are seeking an experienced Emerging Markets FX & Rates Trader to join our Global Markets business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing trader to take ownership of risk management, pricing, and market-making activities across a diverse Emerging Markets portfolio, while working closely with Sales, Structuring, Quants, Risk, and international trading teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing the performance of the EM FX and Rates Trading Desk, trading within approved mandates and risk limits, and delivering liquidity and pricing solutions to institutional clients across a range of Emerging Markets products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trading & Risk Management
  • Manage and risk oversee a portfolio of Emerging Market FX and Rates products within authorised trading mandates and limits.

• Trade a range of EM currencies including

  • PLN
  • CZK
  • HUF
  • RON
  • ZAR
  • TRY
  • ILS
  • MXN
  • Trade FX and linear Interest Rate Derivative products.
  • Monitor, manage, and hedge portfolio risks on both an intraday and overnight basis.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies aligned with market opportunities and business objectives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to market, credit, and operational risk limits.
  • Market Making & Client Engagement
  • Act as a market maker for institutional and corporate clients across Emerging Markets products.
  • Provide competitive pricing and risk solutions for client transactions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with sales teams, clients, brokers, and counterparties.
  • Communicate market views, trading ideas, and future market developments to internal stakeholders.
  • Strategy & Business Development
  • Identify market trends and opportunities to maximise revenue within prescribed risk parameters.
  • Stay informed on global macroeconomic developments, financial markets, and geopolitical events impacting Emerging Markets.
  • Contribute to the overall trading strategy and business planning of the Global Markets franchise.
  • Support product development and pricing of new transactions and initiatives.
  • Governance, Risk & Controls
  • Ensure full compliance with trading mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Maintain strong operational controls through accurate and timely trade capture.
  • Escalate trading disputes, risk concerns, or control issues appropriately.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operations, and Audit teams to ensure a robust control environment.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Structuring, Quantitative Research, Technology, Risk, Operations, and international trading desks.
  • Participate in regular strategy discussions and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Required Experience
  • Proven experience in FX and/or Interest Rate Derivatives trading.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and risk-managing a trading book.
  • Strong understanding of Emerging Markets products and market dynamics.
  • Experience operating within a regulated financial markets environment.
  • Track record of making sound decisions in fast-paced trading environments.
