Overall purpose and main responsibilities and duties of the role:

As part of the audit team, the intern will support the team in the audit assignment works and assist in the recommendations follow-up process.

Main responsibilities and duties of the role:

  • To assist in the execution of audit assignment works:
    • Participate in the testing stage of the mission: assess the management of risks by performing tests of mitigating control design effectiveness and test the operational effectiveness of those controls.
    • Produce good working papers, audit files, audit reports and reporting according to IA Head Office and IA London instructions.
    • Make recommendations for the improvement of controls and governance and, where possible, efficiency.
    • Oral presentation to the auditees and senior management of the branch.
  • To assist in following up of recommendations: maintain and establish regular business partnering throughout the lifetime of open recommendation implementation.
  • To assist in the development and enhancement of the use of data analytics techniques across the audit team.
  • Promote the use of data analytics in audit assignments, providing expertise during planning stage.
  • Design and develop innovative analytic solutions to enhance audit execution and provide meaningful insights to audit leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to data analytics methodology and corresponding reference materials.
  • Build data analytics/data mining scripts to automate processes or audit investigations, and dashboards to improve data visualization and analysis.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Business school or engineer school major in Banking, Finance or other Master degree equivalent.
  • Prior experience: Previous experience in the banking industry, within an External Audit or consulting company or an Internal audit department of top banks will be an advantage.
  • International experience in an English spoken country (as an Erasmus exchange or several months of working experience).
  • Computer skills: Use of MS Office Pack (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…). Data Analytics skills and coding (Python). Data modelling and visualisation (Power BI, Tableau) would be an advantage.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English (Written and Verbal). French language fluency would be an advantage.
  • Other background requirements: To be adaptable in a challenging environment. To be curious & willing to learn & improve.
