Are you an experienced Internal Auditor looking to make a meaningful impact within a leading international banking environment? We are seeking an Audit Manager to join the EMEA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Internal Audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of banking and financing activities, partnering with senior stakeholders while assessing and enhancing risk management, governance, and control frameworks across the UK and wider European operations.

The Opportunity: As Audit Manager, you will play a key role in providing independent assurance over the effectiveness of risk management and internal control environments. Working within a risk‑based audit framework, you will lead and deliver end‑to‑end audit assignments, identify emerging risks, and provide valuable recommendations that strengthen governance and business performance. This position offers excellent exposure to Corporate & Investment Banking activities and the opportunity to participate in audit reviews across multiple European jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver risk‑based internal audit assignments from planning through to reporting and follow‑up.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes.
  • Assess compliance with UK, French and European regulatory requirements.
  • Review key areas including:
    • Counterparty and credit risk management
    • Operational and IT controls
    • Permanent control frameworks
    • Accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Develop audit scopes, programmes, testing strategies and working papers.
  • Produce high‑quality audit reports with clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with business and control function stakeholders to identify root causes and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and maintain ongoing engagement with stakeholders.
  • Perform continuous risk monitoring and proactively identify emerging risks and control issues.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of audit methodologies, standards and best practices.
  • Support strategic audit projects and ad‑hoc assignments as required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Internal Audit experience within banking, financial services, corporate banking, investment banking, asset finance or a regulated financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, financing activities and associated risk management frameworks.
  • Experience planning and leading audits using a risk‑based methodology.
  • Knowledge of UK and/or European banking regulations and regulatory expectations.
  • Proven ability to assess controls, challenge stakeholders constructively and influence positive outcomes.
  • Strong report writing, documentation and presentation skills.
