We’re currently building a curated pool of experienced Discord moderators for future, ongoing opportunities. This is not a role tied to an immediate opening— instead, successful applicants will be added to our moderator network and contacted when projects arise that match their experience and availability.
What You’d Do
- Keep communities safe by monitoring for harmful content, enforcing rules, and handling escalations
- Work behind the scenes and/or actively engage with community members, depending on the project
- Follow our structured moderation framework with clear guidelines and escalation paths
- Follow clear client‑specific tone and communication flow
- Actively participate in community conversations, bringing genuine knowledge of the subject matter
- Provide constructive feedback based on the community and your experience
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Discord moderation experience (personal servers count!), or moderation experience on other chat platforms
- Strong safety instincts — you can spot phishing, harassment, and rule violations quickly
- Trustworthy and consistent — you handle confidential information with discretion, moderate impartially, and communicate proactively with your team
- Comfortable building rapport with community members while maintaining a clear professional boundary
Bonus:
- Genuine interest in music, gaming, or tech communities
- Comfortable with moderation bots and tooling (AutoMod, custom bots)
What We Offer
- Professional training and onboarding
- A supportive internal moderator community
- Flexible hours and remote work across time zones
This is a paid freelance, remote position. We're interested in candidates from all time zones.
