About Level
Level is an FCA-regulated, non-bank lender, specialising in the probate, family law and private client sectors. The company is recognised as the UK's leading specialist lender for family law. Our aim is to make finance the least stressful part of some of the hardest moments in people's lives, such as a divorce or the loss of someone close. During legal processes like divorce or probate, assets are often held in one party's name, which can create an unfair imbalance in representation. We lend against those situations to help solicitors and their clients cover legal costs and create a level playing field. Ten years in, we are profitable, we lead our main market, and we still work like a start-up.
Level is entering a period of significant growth, and client services is where that growth becomes funded loans. We are reshaping and growing the team, so you join at a point where the way you work helps set the standard for everyone who follows.
You will be trained properly: on our products, on family law and probate processes, and on handling regulated conversations well. For many of our clients, the loan you help them get over the line is what provides them with access to justice.
Who you will speak to
Our clients come to us at some of the hardest moments of their lives: going through a divorce, or settling the estate of someone they have lost. Most are introduced by their solicitor. So every day you speak to two people about the same case. The client needs to feel looked after and kept informed. The solicitor needs to feel they are dealing with someone who understands their world and gets things done, because how you handle that call shapes whether they introduce their next client to us.
What you'll own:
Getting good cases funded.
Everyone who gets in touch hears back from you quickly. You help people work out whether a loan is right for them, and you keep the momentum going so the right cases reach funding.
Your cases, end to end.
You own each case from enquiry to drawdown rather than handling one slice of it. You take the first conversation, explain how our loans work, gather what we need, and keep the case moving until the funds are released.
Getting cases ready for a decision.
You collect the documents and information our underwriters need, spot what is missing early, and chase it so that cases reach a decision complete and on time.
Keeping everyone informed.
Clients and solicitors should never have to chase us. You give clear, honest updates, including when the news is not what they hoped for.
Regulated conversations, handled well.
We are authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. You explain our products clearly and fairly, you know where explaining ends and advice begins, and you bring in the right colleague when a conversation needs it.
Your caseload in our systems.
You keep every case accurate and up to date in our CRM, so anyone can pick it up and see where it stands.
You will work across our family law and probate products, depending on where the demand is.
What we are looking for:
Someone people trust on the phone.
You are warm with a client who is upset or worried, and calm and credible with a solicitor who wants a straight answer. You can move between the two in the same afternoon.
Sound judgement.
You know when to reassure, when to be careful with your words, and when to elevate rather than improvise an answer.
Organised and dependable.
You can run a full caseload without things slipping, and you follow a process because you understand why it matters.
Comfortable with systems.
You have used a CRM or case management system and pick up new tools quickly.
Family law or probate experience is a real advantage.
If you have worked as a paralegal, legal executive, case handler or solicitor, you will already speak the language of the people you work with. It is not essential: if you are exceptional on everything else, our family law team will train you.
Financial services experience helps but is learnable. We will train you properly on our products and on how we handle regulated conversations.
We run a quick process and expect days between stages, not weeks.
How we work:
small teams, one clear owner for each thing, direct feedback, and decisions made quickly then revisited when the evidence changes.
