Reports to: Director of Finance & Operations
Works closely with: Colleagues across the APNO team, acting as a key point of operational support, and working with the Executive team (including the CEO) and the Board of Trustees providing administrative support on governance and compliance activity.

Active Partnerships National Organisation (APNO) is looking for an approachable, organised and proactive Business & Operations Support Officer to help keep a fully remote organisation running smoothly.
About the Role:
- Being a reliable first point of contact for colleagues, trustees and external partners
- Helping meetings, governance processes and day-to-day operations run smoothly
- Spotting what needs doing and taking action, even when it's not written on a task list
- Communicating clearly so people feel supported, informed and confident
They are looking for someone who enjoys helping others, can juggle multiple requests, and is comfortable working independently while staying closely connected to a team.
Working Pattern:
- 30 - 37.5 hours per week across a minimum of four days
- Tuesday is a required working day
- Flexible hours across remaining days
- Occasional travel within England, including quarterly Board meetings held in locations across England, and 3-4 in-person team connection meetings per year, which are typically two-day events involving an overnight stay.
- All reasonable travel and accommodation expenses are covered.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supporting Board and network meetings (logistics, papers, minutes, follow-up)
- Acting as a central point for admin, HR and operational queries
- Keeping systems, calendars and information organised and accessible
- Supporting recruitment, induction and training administration
- Liaising with suppliers and helping coordinate IT and compliance activity
- Responding calmly and helpfully to ad-hoc requests
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- A friendly, patient and professional communication style
- Confidence working remotely and managing your own workload
