An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated and experienced team at Leuchie, providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care to adults living with long-term neurological conditions. The Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide professional clinical nursing care to our guests, supporting their individual health and wellbeing needs throughout their stay. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience in neurological care. You will ideally have a genuine interest in neurological conditions and be committed to providing care that enables our guests to have a positive, enjoyable and fulfilling experience at Leuchie.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of clinical nursing care.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day care of guests, including the safe administration and management of medication.
  • Planning, implementing and supervising the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical and medical documentation.
  • Promoting and respecting each guest’s rights to privacy, dignity, independence, choice and control.
  • Monitoring guests’ health and wellbeing, identifying changes in condition and arranging appropriate professional input when required.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider nursing, care and multidisciplinary team to ensure individual care needs are met.
  • Ensuring all care is delivered in accordance with Leuchie policies and procedures, Care Inspectorate requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Working in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code and maintaining professional standards at all times.
  • Delegating and overseeing the daily workload, ensuring tasks are distributed effectively and efficiently in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
  • Supporting and supervising colleagues, helping to maintain a positive, safe and effective working environment.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate, confident and motivated nurse who is committed to delivering excellent care and who enjoys working as part of a supportive team. You will have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and a valid PIN.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • A professional, positive and person-centred approach.
  • A genuine interest in supporting people living with neurological conditions.
  • The confidence and ability to supervise and support other members of the team.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, with a willingness to contribute to the wider life of Leuchie.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.

Salary & Benefits

£41,477.80 per annum / £22.79 per hour. Every second weekend off, with a 1pm finish on Friday. Overtime available at time and a half. 7 weeks / 35 days annual leave per year (pro rata). Set in the beautiful East Lothian countryside, Leuchie is a unique, friendly and caring independent charity providing short breaks for people living with long-term neurological conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Stroke and Parkinson’s, as well as respite for their carers.
