We are seeking a Digital Platforms Developer to join our team in a full-time, on-site role based in the London area. This role will support the continued development of our existing platforms (Engage and BEACCON) and will play a key role in the build and launch of a new company website, which will initially be developed in WordPress. The website project will be the immediate priority, followed by ongoing platform enhancements and support. The role is well suited to a developer who enjoys working across multiple technologies, contributing to both new builds and established systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of Engage (PHP) and BEACCON (Java)
  • Lead and assist with the development of a new WordPress website, including customisation and future enhancements
  • Work across front-end and back-end development as required
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Maintain and improve platform performance, reliability, and security
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across platforms
  • Work with PostgreSQL databases, including queries, optimisation, and data management
  • Build and maintain APIs and system integrations
  • Contribute to documentation and best-practice development standards
  • Explore and support the use of AI-driven tools or integrations where appropriate

Technical Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience with JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of React
  • Back-end development experience using PHP and Java
  • Experience building and maintaining WordPress websites
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Experience working with APIs (RESTful services)
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL

Desirable

  • Experience with AI tools, integrations, or applied machine learning concepts
  • Experience with database optimisation and data modelling
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Experience supporting live production platforms
