Position: Associate Façade Engineer
Location: Central London
Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 per annum, plus pension, healthcare and bonus
Overview: Our client is a large, employee owned consulting practice, highly regarded for their forensic investigations for the built environment. Their London office , the headquarters for their work in the UK and mainland Europe, has an opportunity to apply your existing expertise in a sector that is consistent, intriguing and varied. It would suit a senior facade engineer looking for a move up, or an associate looking for change and future prospects.
Your Role: You will identify the root cause of problems affecting facades including design shortfalls, materials issues, structural failure and unsuitable construction methodology, you will then recommend the mitigation required. An external consultant is appointed to carry out the necessary design, you will peer review their work and, where required, provide technical advice at construction stages. Close support and guidance will be provided, you will apply all of existing skills from a new and intriguing angle. Occasional national and international travel will be required.

Your Profile: A façade engineer with at least six years design experience. Good analytical and lateral thinking skills are essential. You should be degree qualified, with a 2:1, or above, and ideally be chartered with the IStructE, ICE or RIBA.
